Today, a few stocks have entered the futures and options (F&O) ban list, meaning they cannot be traded under certain conditions. This happens when the open interest (OI) on a stock crosses 95% of the market-wide position limits (MWPL). The ban is only lifted once the OI drops below 80%.

Here are the stocks currently in the F&O ban:

  • New in Ban: RBL Bank
  • Still in Ban: ABFRL, Balrampur Chini, Hindustan Copper

These stocks will remain under restriction until their open interest levels return to acceptable limits.

Nifty closed below 25,200 as the Sensex dropped 203 points. Top gainers on the Nifty include Asian Paints, Grasim Industries, HUL, Apollo Hospitals, and Sun Pharma. Wipro, Coal India, ONGC, Hindalco Industries, and M&M were the top losers. Sector-wise, FMCG, realty, and pharma each saw a 0.5% rise, while auto, banking, energy, IT, and metal sectors declined by 0.4% to 1%. The BSE Midcap index ended slightly lower, while the Smallcap index closed in the green.
