The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has placed the following securities under a trading ban in the futures and options (F&O) segment for August 29, 2024:
- BANDHANBNK (Bandhan Bank)
- GRANULES (Granules India)
- HINDCOPPER (Hindustan Copper)
- INDIACEM (India Cements)
The ban has been imposed because the open interest in the derivative contracts of these securities has exceeded 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL).
During the ban period, members can only reduce their positions by offsetting existing positions. No fresh positions are allowed to be created in the F&O segment for these securities.The ban will be lifted if the open interest drops below 80% of the MWPL.Despite the F&O ban, these securities will continue to be available for trading in the cash market.
