Markets likely to see cautious opening after previous close in red

The Nifty heads into the mid-week session after a choppy weekly expiry, where the index moved sideways. Banking stocks continued to drive momentum, with Nifty Bank closing above 55,500, now eyeing 55,700 and 56,000 levels. IT and FMCG names remained weak, but auto stocks and ancillaries stayed strong, with Subros and Automotive Stampings posting double-digit gains on high volumes. For Nifty, resistance is seen at 25,200–25,300, while support holds at 25,150. In focus today will be IT stocks after fresh H-1B visa norms from the Trump administration, alongside block deals in Akzo Nobel, Swiggy, and Bajaj Electricals.

The Nifty is set to open below the 25,200 mark in early trade, as pre-open trends suggest a soft start. On Monday, the markets closed in the red with the Nifty down 32.85 points at 25,169.50 and the Sensex slipping 57.87 points to 82,102.10.
