Stock market traders and investors should be aware of the upcoming stock market holidays as October approaches. Both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed on October 2 to mark Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary.

The Bombay Stock Exchange website states that on October 2 trading in the equity, equity derivative, currency, SLB, commodity and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR)  segments will remain closed.

In the meantime, On Friday, the Nifty 50 reached an all-time high of 26,277. However, it fell 37 points, or 0.14 percent, to 26,179 later in the day. The Sensex hit an all-time high of 85978.25 on Friday after closing 264.27 points, or 0.31 percent down, at 85,571.85.
