SPML Infra shares climbed over 3% in early morning trade after the company secured a major order worth ₹1,073 crore, including GST, from the Indore Municipal Corporation. The contract has been awarded under the AMRUT 2.0 programme, the government’s flagship initiative aimed at making Indian cities water secure and self-reliant.

The project is designed to augment Indore’s water supply system and strengthen the city’s urban infrastructure, ultimately ensuring reliable access to safe drinking water for more than two million residents. It covers not only the development of new infrastructure but also includes a ten-year operations and maintenance agreement, which will help maintain efficiency and sustainability in the long run.

Under the scope of work, SPML Infra will construct a 1,650 MLD raw water intake system supported by a modern pump house, along with a 400 MLD water treatment plant equipped with advanced technology to meet strict quality standards. The project also involves the development of transmission systems with clear water booster pumping stations, the laying of more than 22 kilometres of large-diameter pipelines, and the establishment of an integrated 132/33 kV electric substation to ensure seamless operations.

The engineering, procurement, and construction portion of the project has a completion schedule of 30 months, including the monsoon seasons. Once executed, SPML Infra will continue to operate and maintain the system for a decade, ensuring uninterrupted water supply to Indore’s residents.
