Solar Industries (India) Ltd. shares fell sharply by around 2% on September 4, 2025, after the company reported a tragic explosion at its Chakdoh facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The incident occurred at 12:33 am, inside the Crystallization Building during the crystallization process of an energetic material.

According to the company’s official filing, safety mechanisms were activated immediately, and workers in the vicinity were evacuated under emergency protocols. However, the blast caused the death of one person and left eight others injured due to the shock impact.

The management expressed condolences to the bereaved family and assured full support to those affected. Authorities and statutory bodies have been notified, and a detailed investigation is currently underway to identify the root cause of the accident and implement corrective and preventive measures.

From a financial perspective, Solar Industries confirmed that the damage is restricted to the affected building and stated that the company has adequate insurance coverage to manage potential losses.

Solar Industries shares were down 2.27% at ₹13,969.00 apiece around 10.52 am. It has jumped 41.61% this year, so far.
