Shares of SML Isuzu surged over 9% to Rs 1,715.00 on Monday after the company reported a sharp 23.9% year-on-year rise in total sales for March 2025. The company sold 2,315 vehicles during the month, compared to 1,868 units in March 2024, with passenger vehicle sales leading the growth.
In the cargo vehicle segment, sales remained largely stable, dipping slightly by 0.8% to 594 units in March 2025 versus 599 units in the same month last year. However, the passenger vehicle category saw a significant 35.6% YoY increase, rising to 1,721 units from 1,269 units in March 2024.
For the full fiscal year 2024-25, SML Isuzu recorded total sales of 14,221 units, registering a 3.1% rise over the 13,797 units sold in FY23-24. Cargo vehicle sales fell 2.5% to 4,215 units, while passenger vehicle sales improved 5.6% to 10,006 units from 9,472 units last year.
The robust growth in the passenger vehicle segment has played a key role in driving investor sentiment, resulting in a sharp rally in the company’s stock price during the session.
