It is proving to be a positive day in the stock market as Sensex has climbed to breach its 52-week high peak and Nifty50 is nearing a similar record.

Despite a crumbling start at the opening bell, Sensex saw an exponential rise to register a rise of 226 points and breach its 52-week high at 63,588.31. Meanwhile Nifty is marginally nearing to touch its 52-week high.

The market opened to caution but gradually moved to green and is witnessing positive indices currently.

Among the sectors power, Auto and Realty have seen a rise of 0.5% each whereas Metal and Pharma are among the top losing indices today.

Nifty midcap 100 is the best performing sector which has seen a gain of 1.02% at 361.40 whereas Nifty Metal is the worst performing at a fall of 0.62% at 38.95.

Nifty50 stocks that have touched a 52-week high includes: Power Grid Corp, HDFC Life, Britannia, HCL Tech, NTPC and Tata Motors.

Among the top losers today are JSW Steel, HDFC AMC, Apollo Hospitals and Tata Steel.

Sensex closed at 63,327.70 yesterday whereas Nifty halted at 18,816.70 at closing bell yesterday.
