The Sensex opened at 55,702.52, up 146.73 points, or 0.26%, while Nifty was at 16,561.40, up 64.95 points or 0.39%. Commodity stocks lead to gains.

Shares of Aptus Value Housing Finance made a tepid stock market listing on Tuesday. The stock was listed at ₹333, a 5.6% discount over its issue price of ₹353 apiece. The ₹2,780.05 crore initial public offering (IPO) was subscribed 17.20 times in the price band of ₹346-Rs353. Ahead of the issue, ICICI Securities said that the issue is available at a price to book value of 7.0 times on FY21 at a higher end of the price band of ₹353/share
