Shares of Salzer Electronics Ltd surged 11.74% to Rs 853.80 on Tuesday after the company announced that it has been granted a patent for its “Disconnecting and Earthing Device for High Voltage Applications.” The innovation marks a major technological leap for the Coimbatore-based electrical solutions manufacturer, enhancing its position in the industrial and railway power systems market.
The newly patented device introduces key improvements over conventional models, including a compact design, enhanced user safety for voltages up to 1000V, higher operational efficiency, and installer-friendly wiring systems. According to the company, the product is particularly suited for traction systems, locomotive networks, and other high-voltage power infrastructure, where space optimization and maintenance safety are crucial.
Commenting on the development, Mr. D. Rajesh Kumar, Joint Managing Director of Salzer Electronics, said:
“This patent underscores our focus on practical innovation and engineering excellence. Our goal was to design a high-voltage disconnecting and earthing device that delivers superior safety performance while offering tangible benefits in compactness, ease of installation, and operational efficiency.”

At the time of writing, Salzer Electronics’ market capitalization stood at Rs 14.80 billion, with a P/E ratio of 27.13 and a dividend yield of 0.30%. The stock traded in the range of Rs 785.40 – Rs 841.65 during the day, supported by a volume of over 37,000 shares on the NSE.
