Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) shares jumped 8% following the announcement of a significant contract award from Central Railway. As of 10:01 AM, the shares were trading 8.27% higher at Rs 407.35.
The company has been awarded a ₹115.79 crore contract for the upgradation of electric traction systems in the Itarsi–Amla section under the Nagpur Division.
The Letter of Acceptance (LOA) covers modification work on the Overhead Equipment (OHE) system, transitioning the current 1×25 kV configuration to an advanced 2×25 kV system. This upgrade is designed to enhance infrastructure capabilities and support increased freight movement targets of up to 3000 metric tonnes.
The project is set to be completed within 24 months under general contract conditions, with the total contract value including all applicable taxes amounting to ₹115.79 crore (₹115,79,37,241.11).
RVNL shares opened at ₹380.50, reaching a high of ₹407.70 and a low of ₹378.35 during the trading session. The stock’s 52-week high stands at ₹647.00, while its 52-week low is ₹275.90.
