Reliance in focus: Stock rises 1%;  Ambani family unveil ambitious AI project while celebrating Jamnagar milestones

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) shares rose 1% on Wednesday to ₹1,256.05 following the Ambani family’s highlighting figures on key milestones during the 25th anniversary of the Jamnagar refinery. At the same event, Akash Ambani, Director of RIL, announced a major artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure project in Jamnagar.

Jamnagar: The jewel of Reliance

Nita Ambani, Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, called Jamnagar the “soul of Reliance,” emphasizing its significance for the Ambani family and the company. Recalling the challenges faced during its construction, she credited Dhirubhai Ambani’s vision for transforming a barren desert into the world’s largest refinery within a record 33 months.

“Jamnagar is Kokila Mummy’s ‘janmabhoomi,’ and her blessings have made all this possible,” Nita Ambani shared during her heartfelt address to employees and families.

Akash Ambani’s bold vision for AI

During the celebrations, Akash Ambani committed to making Jamnagar a global leader in AI infrastructure. The project aims to establish Jamnagar as a key player in cutting-edge technology, with completion expected within 24 months. He emphasized Reliance’s ambition to lead the global information age, with Isha and Anant Ambani also pledging their support to this initiative.

Historic achievements of Jamnagar refinery

The Jamnagar refinery, commissioned in December 1999, has cemented its place as the world’s largest refining hub. Experts initially doubted the feasibility of the project due to the region’s harsh conditions. However, Dhirubhai Ambani defied the odds, establishing an engineering marvel and an industrial icon for India.
