GAIL (India) Ltd posted a steady performance for the quarter ended September 2025 (Q2 FY26), with profits climbing even as operating margins saw a mild dip.
The state-run gas utility reported a net profit of ₹2,217 crore, marking a 17.6% increase from ₹1,886 crore in the previous quarter (Q1 FY26). The uptick was driven by stable gas transmission volumes and improved earnings from the marketing segment.
Revenue from operations came in marginally higher at ₹35,008 crore, up 0.7% from ₹34,769 crore in Q1. However, EBITDA slipped 4.3% to ₹3,191.4 crore compared to ₹3,334 crore in the previous quarter, as input costs and lower transmission spreads weighed on operating performance.
The EBITDA margin stood at 9.12%, down from 9.59% in the June quarter, reflecting a slight softening in profitability.
