Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) reported a strong performance for the second quarter of FY26, with both revenue and profitability showing a sharp year-on-year (YoY) improvement.

The company’s revenue from operations rose 14% YoY to Rs 7,511.8 crore, compared to Rs 6,584.1 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Total income for the quarter stood at Rs 7,693.6 crore, up from Rs 6,702.5 crore a year earlier.

BHEL’s net profit for Q2 FY26 jumped over 280% YoY to Rs 367.7 crore, compared to Rs 96.7 crore in Q2 FY25, aided by improved operating margins and cost control.

Operational performance

  • EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs 580 crore, up from Rs 275 crore last year, marking a 111% YoY growth.
  • EBITDA margin improved significantly to 7.73% from 4.18% in the same period a year ago.
  • Total expenses rose 10% YoY to Rs 7,201.5 crore, reflecting higher material and employee costs.

The company’s strong profit growth was driven by robust execution across projects, higher order inflows, and a pickup in power sector demand.
