Protean Ltd shares jumped more than 9% on August 26, 2025, following the company’s announcement of a significant work order from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), New Delhi. As of 9:19 AM, the shares were trading 9.26% higher at Rs 895.15.

The order, valued at approximately INR 1,160 crores (exclusive of taxes), is for providing services as a “Service Provider for Establishing and Running District Level Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK)” across India.

Under the contract, Protean will be responsible for setting up and managing ASK centers in 188 districts nationwide. These centers will offer appointment- and walk-in-based Aadhaar enrolment, update, and other miscellaneous Aadhaar services. The contract has a tenure of six years and is categorized as outsourcing the delivery of public services as a project.

The order was awarded by a domestic entity, UIDAI, and is not related to any promoter or group company interests. It also does not fall under related-party transactions.
