PG Electroplast Limited shares hit the 10% lower circuit on Monday, 9 March 2026, after the company disclosed a significant disruption in its LPG supply due to maritime navigation restrictions linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The development raised concerns about possible production disruptions, leading to sharp selling pressure in the stock.
In an exchange filing, PG Electroplast informed investors that it has received communication regarding constraints affecting certain vessels transporting LPG. These restrictions are a result of maritime navigation challenges arising from the ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which have impacted the broader gas supply scenario.
The company stated that the disruption has resulted in a shortage of gas under its existing Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement. The supply constraint has become effective from 9 March 2026, significantly limiting the availability of LPG required for operations.
According to the filing, the availability of gas has become severely constrained, leading to a reduction in the LPG quantities allocated to the company starting today. As a result, PG Electroplast is currently evaluating the situation to determine whether any supply curtailment may be required for its downstream customers.
The company added that it is actively exploring alternative sources of LPG and other supply arrangements to ensure that production activities remain unaffected. However, the firm also clarified that the potential impact of the ongoing supply shortage cannot be quantified at this stage.
PG Electroplast further stated that it continues to closely monitor the evolving situation and will assess its operational strategy based on developments in the global supply chain and geopolitical environment.
The announcement triggered a negative reaction in the market, with investors reacting to concerns over possible disruptions in manufacturing operations and supply commitments. Consequently, PG Electroplast shares locked in the 10% lower circuit during Monday’s trading session.
