Benchmark Indices Nifty and Sensex extended gains to scale fresh record highs in early trade on June 18, rising 0.25 percent each. Metal stocks index, PSU banks index, and IT index were among the top gainers. Healthcare and Pharma sectoral indices dragged.
At about 9:55 am, the Sensex was up 299 points at 77,291 and the Nifty was up 94 points or 0.29 percent at 23,559.
Nifty hit an all-time high of 23573.85.
Among the 30 Sensex companies, Wipro, Titan, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Bharti Airtel and Hindustan Unilever were the biggest gainers.
