Nifty 50, flagship index of the National Stock Exchange has made history as it crossed 20,000 mark for the first time ever. This has been made possible with healthy fund inflows and strong rally in heavyweight stocks. At around 3:15, the Nifty 50 jumped over 179 points to 20,000.
The achievement comes after a period of anticipation and market volatility that witnessed the index miss this milestone by a thread in July. Earlier in July, Nifty 50 registered an upwards mark and was reaching all-time high marks by registering an surge of 15% since March 2023.
