Indian equity benchmarks ended the January 2 session on a positive note, supported by buying in select heavyweight stocks. The Nifty closed above the 26,300 level at 26,328.55, registering a gain of 0.70%, while the Sensex rose 0.67% to settle at 85,762.01.

  • Shriram Finance finished the day at ₹1,010.4, lower by 0.9%.

  • Axis Bank closed at ₹1,266.9, declining 0.6%.

  • Bajaj Auto ended at ₹9,502.5, down 0.6%.

  • Tata Consumer Products settled at ₹1,170.7, falling 0.5%.

  • Bharti Airtel closed at ₹2,106.3, lower by 0.2%.

  • Eicher Motors ended at ₹7,334.5, down 0.2%.

  • InterGlobe Aviation finished marginally lower at ₹5,106.0, slipping 0.1%.
