Indian equity benchmarks ended on a firm note on February 20, with the Nifty closing above the 25,550 mark. The BSE Sensex rose 316.57 points, or 0.38%, to settle at 82,814.71, while the NIFTY 50 gained 116.90 points, or 0.46%, to close at 25,571.25.

Despite the broader market strength, several frontline stocks ended the session in the red.

Kwality Wall’s (India) declined 3.0% to close at ₹27.7, emerging as one of the top losers of the day in percentage terms.

Tech Mahindra fell 1.5% to settle at ₹1,456.9.

Infosys slipped 1.3% to close at ₹1,353.2.

Grasim Industries ended 1.1% lower at ₹2,832.8.

HCL Technologies declined 1.0% to finish at ₹1,436.5.

Eternal dropped 0.9% to close at ₹269.5.

Wipro lost 0.6% to settle at ₹209.9.

HDFC Life Insurance edged down 0.6% to close at ₹728.7.

Bharti Airtel slipped 0.6% to end at ₹1,977.4.

Mahindra & Mahindra also declined 0.6%, closing at ₹3,412.8.

While benchmark indices advanced during the session, these stocks weighed on their respective sectors, ending the day with negative percentage changes at close.
