The benchmark Nifty 50 index fell on Monday, as BSE-listed companies erased nearly 6 lakh crore in market capitalization as selling pressure increased ahead of the US presidential elections.
The BSE Sensex witnessed a significant decline, dropping by 941.88 points, or 1.18%, to settle at 78,782.24. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty also faced a setback, falling by 309.00 points, or 1.27%, to close at 23,995.35.
