Indian equity markets ended higher on March 18, with benchmark indices posting steady gains. The Nifty 50 closed at 23,777.80, up 196.65 points or 0.83%, while the Sensex gained 633.29 points to settle at 76,704.13. The Bank Nifty also moved up 0.82% to close at 55,326.05.

The gains were supported by strength in select IT, financial, and auto stocks, with several Nifty 50 constituents closing firmly in the green.

Among the top gainers, Jio Financial Services led the pack, ending at ₹248.5, up 4.6%. Eternal followed with a gain of 3.4% to close at ₹242.5.

Tech Mahindra closed at ₹1,382.7, rising 3.1%, while HCL Technologies gained 2.8% to settle at ₹1,358. Infosys also advanced, closing at ₹1,266.7 with a 2.7% increase.

Mahindra & Mahindra ended at ₹3,212.1, up 2.7%, and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone rose 2.7% to close at ₹1,401.8.

Tata Consultancy Services closed at ₹2,439.0, gaining 2.0%, while Axis Bank ended at ₹1,250.9, up 1.9%. InterGlobe Aviation also featured among the gainers, closing at ₹4,361.1 with a rise of 1.7%.
