Indian equity markets wrapped up a volatile February 4 session with mild gains, even as select frontline stocks outperformed the broader indices. The Sensex ended higher by 0.09% at 83,817.69, while the Nifty closed up 0.19% at 25,776.00.

Among the standout performers was Trent, which closed 5.2% higher at ₹4,021. Eternal followed with a 4.9% gain, ending the session at ₹293.5. The stock saw strong price action during the day and remained firmly in positive territory till the close.

Energy heavyweight Oil and Natural Gas Corporation rose 3.5% to settle at ₹266, supported by steady buying in oil and gas names during the session.

Power sector stocks also featured prominently. NTPC advanced 2.3% to close at ₹366.8, while Power Grid Corporation of India gained 2.2%, ending at ₹289.5.

From the infrastructure space, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone moved up 2.3% to ₹1,565.2, reflecting continued interest in logistics and port-related stocks.

Healthcare and insurance stocks saw moderate gains. Max Healthcare Institute rose 1.9% to ₹1,022.5, while SBI Life Insurance added 1.8% to close at ₹2,038.

In the consumer discretionary space, Titan Company ended 1.6% higher at ₹4,135.1. Metal stocks also contributed to the gains, with Hindalco Industries closing 1.5% higher at ₹970.
