Indian equity benchmarks closed lower for the third straight session on December 17, with the Nifty ending below the 25,900 mark. At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex slipped 120.21 points, or 0.14 percent, to settle at 84,559.65. The NSE Nifty 50 also ended in the red, declining 41.55 points, or 0.16 percent, to close at 25,818.55.
