Indian equity indices closed on a weaker note, with Nifty closing at 24850 amid selling seen across the sectors on September 6. The Nifty dropped 292.90 points, or 1.16 percent, at 24,852.20, while the Sensex was down 1,017.23 points, or 1.24 percent, at 81,183.93 at the closing.
