NCC Ltd saw its shares rise more than 3% in early trade today after the company announced a major contract win from the Public Works (Health & Education) Department of Assam. The newly awarded project focuses on the expansion and modernization of Gauhati Medical College & Hospital in Guwahati, one of the most important healthcare institutions in the state.
According to the Letter of Acceptance dated 21 November 2025, NCC has been finalized as the contractor for this large-scale redevelopment initiative. The project marks a significant boost to the company’s presence in the healthcare infrastructure segment and adds substantial value to its existing order book.
The redevelopment plan includes a full upgrade of the current facilities—from demolition and initial groundwork to detailed planning, designing and engineering. The project will then move into a complete construction phase, designed to transform the medical college and hospital into a modern, high-capacity healthcare hub for the region.
NCC has been given a total project timeline of forty-two months. The first six months are dedicated to preparatory activities, while the main construction work is expected to run for thirty-six months. Once the construction is handed over, the company will also be responsible for operations and maintenance of civil and related services for an additional five-year period, ensuring long-term quality and functionality of the upgraded infrastructure.
The contract is valued at ₹2,062.71 crore excluding GST, making it one of the largest healthcare development projects sanctioned in Assam in recent years.
