Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced a sharp reduction in prices across its popular models following the government’s decision to lower Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates on automobiles. The revised prices will take effect from September 22, 2025, as the company passes on the full benefit of the tax cut to customers .
Key price reductions
According to the company’s exchange filing, entry-level models such as the S-Presso will now be cheaper by up to ₹1.29 lakh, bringing its starting price down to ₹3.49 lakh. Similarly, the Alto K10 has seen a reduction of ₹1.07 lakh, while the Celerio is now cheaper by ₹94,100.
Among premium hatchbacks, the Baleno and Swift have been reduced by ₹86,100 and ₹84,600 respectively, while compact SUVs such as the Fronx and Brezza have witnessed cuts of ₹1.12 lakh each. Larger models including the Grand Vitara and XL6 are cheaper by over ₹1 lakh and ₹52,000 respectively.

Maruti Suzuki said the price cuts are aimed at giving a fresh boost to the Indian passenger vehicle market, which has been battling high interest rates and slower urban demand in recent quarters. Industry experts believe the revised GST regime, coupled with festive season demand, could accelerate volumes across entry and mid-segment cars .
