Market ends with fresh record, financial sector creates momentum

On December 7, Indian indices progressed with up top momentum leading to a fresh record closing high. The gains accolade due to financial, pharma, and FMCG stocks.

At the closing bell, BSE Sensex was up by 347.42 points or 0.77 percent at 45426.97, while nifty was up by 97.30 points or 0.73 percent at 13355.80. Moreover, around 1972 shares have advanced, 936 shares declined, and 190 shares remained unchanged.

The major gainers at the market were UPL, Adani Ports, HUL, Bharti Airtel, and Coal India. As opposed to Kotak Mahindra Bank, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Nestle, and SBI Life lost at the market.

On the industrial side, the PSU Bank index rose by 2 percent. Pharma, infra, and FMCG indices added 1 percent each. Additionally, BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained 1 percent each.
