The markets in the last minutes saw good action as Auto stocks and some realty stocks rose the market sentiment. However, Nifty index was trading with flat figures with not much action noticed.
At close, Sensex was at 38,050.78, up by 173 points, or 0.46%. Nifty closed at 11,259.40, higher 81 points, or 0.72%. Bank Nifty closed above 21750 adding 74 points.
About 1031 shares have advanced and 595 shares declined as recorded at market closing. Among the top gainers were – NTPC, Eicher Motors, Zee Entertain and Hindalco. SBI, BPCL, Reliance and Bharti Airtel ended on the losers side of Nifty.
The Auto stocks contributed much in the upward rally of indices today as stocks of Eicher Motors, Bajaj Auto, Hero Motorcorp portrayed good figures. Eicher Motors up 1000 points, Bajaj Auto and Hero Motorcorp up nearly 5%.
