Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on Wednesday, September 17, that its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business has secured large orders in India and overseas, reinforcing its focus on grid stability and resilience.
In India, the company received an order for revamping power distribution with SCADA and smart technology integration across two towns. The scope also includes work on distribution transformer stations and conversion of overhead electrical lines into underground cabling.
In the UAE, L&T has won an order to design, deliver and construct two ±300 MVAr STATCOM systems at existing 400 kV substations. These dynamic reactive power compensation systems are designed to stabilise voltage by automatically injecting or absorbing reactive power in real time.
Additionally, the company secured an order in Oman for establishing a 400/132 kV grid station along with a 400 kV transmission line segment.
According to L&T, these wins underscore its commitment to building future-ready grid infrastructure supporting energy transition and sustainability goals. The projects fall under the “Large” classification, which corresponds to a value between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore.
