Larsen & Toubro (L&T) share price gained 4% on Tuesday after the company emerged as the lowest bidder for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad rail corridor.

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) on October 19 announced that Larsen & Toubro has emerged as the lowest bidder for the largest segment of 237 km corridor of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project.

The stock was trading at Rs 935.50, up 4%. It has opened at Rs 919 with previous closing at Rs 902.90.

Mumbai based L&T competed against consortiums led by Tata Projects and Afcons Infrastructure to bag the order at bid price of Rs 24,985 crore.
