The Nifty IT Index maintained its rally on Monday with the index rising 3% to touch 20,331.60 level. It previously closed at 19,827.05 and opened at 19,855.55 level.
Shares of HCL Technologies gained 4% to touch Rs 849.90 after the IT firm announced its plan to acquire DWS, a leading Australian IT, business and management consulting group. The transaction is expected to close in December 2020, subject to closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
Shares of Route Mobile which made its debut today rose 105% to trade at Rs 717, from its issue price of Rs 350. It is a Mumbai based cloud communication service provider.
At 3:10 pm, Infosys rose 1.07% and was trading at Rs 1,012.90. Mindtree surged 3% before settling at Rs 1,276, Tech Mahindra, and LTI also were up over 2% in early trade. TCS touched a high of Rs 2,504.90 after opening at Rs 2,465.
Benchmarks continued to trade lower in the later trade with the Nifty trading below the 11,500. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index plunged 1.2% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index fell 1%.
