The Indian stock market will remain closed for trading tomorrow, Wednesday, November 5, 2025, on account of Gurpurab (Prakash Gurpurb Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji).

Both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain shut for all segments — including equities, equity derivatives, and SLB (Securities Lending and Borrowing) — due to the nationwide holiday.

Trading schedule for November 5

  • NSE & BSE: Closed for the full day
  • MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange):
    • Morning Session: Closed
    • Evening Session: Open from 5:00 PM onwards

This means no equity-market activity will take place tomorrow, while commodity markets will operate only in the evening session.

Usual market timings

On regular trading days, Indian stock markets operate as follows:

  • Pre-open session: 9:00 AM – 9:15 AM
  • Regular trading hours: 9:15 AM – 3:30 PM

Since tomorrow is a trading holiday, orders will be carried to the next business day, and normal market hours will resume thereafter.

Next stock market holiday

After Gurpurab, the next scheduled market holiday is Thursday, December 25, 2025 on account of Christmas.

As per the 2025 trading calendar, November has only one equity-market holiday.
