Shares of IndusInd Bank were in focus on Friday following a CNBC-TV18 report stating that Rajiv Anand of Axis Bank and Rahul Shukla of HDFC Bank are among the top contenders for the bank’s CEO position.
According to the report, Rajiv Anand, currently serving as Deputy Managing Director at Axis Bank and set to retire in August, has emerged as a strong candidate. Additionally, Rahul Shukla, who heads Commercial and Rural Banking at HDFC Bank and is currently on sabbatical, is also in the running.
Other names being considered include Anup Saha, Managing Director at Bajaj Finance since March 2025. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has asked IndusInd Bank to submit its final list of potential CEO candidates by June 30, 2025.
IndusInd Bank’s board has reportedly discussed names with the RBI unofficially but is yet to submit an official list. CNBC-TV18 noted that it has reached out to IndusInd Bank for comments, but a response is awaited.
