Graphite India Limited shares rose 5% after the company posted a sharp rise in net profit for the fourth quarter of FY25, despite lower revenue. As of 3:14 PM, the shares were trading 5.02% higher at Rs 486.00.
The company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹49 crore in Q4 FY25, a 206% year-on-year increase from ₹16 crore in Q4 FY24.
The strong performance was driven by reduced input costs and better operational efficiency, helping offset a dip in revenue. Total income for the quarter came in at ₹723 crore, down from ₹792 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations stood at ₹666 crore, compared to ₹720 crore in Q4 FY24.
Notably, total expenses fell to ₹654 crore from ₹755 crore YoY, with significant savings in power, fuel, and raw materials boosting profit margins.
However, on a full-year basis, Graphite India’s performance weakened. FY25 net profit dropped 43% to ₹458 crore from ₹805 crore in FY24. Annual revenue from operations also declined to ₹2,560 crore from ₹2,950 crore, while total income fell to ₹2,998 crore from ₹3,254 crore last year.
