Graphite India Ltd shares fell over 8% after the company announced its second-quarter (Q2 FY2025) financial results, revealing a steep decline in profitability despite growth in revenue. As of 1:52 PM, the shares were trading 8.69% lower at Rs 527.10.
The company’s net profit plunged 60.5% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹77 crore, compared to ₹195 crore in the same period last year. Meanwhile, revenue rose 13.4% YoY to ₹729 crore from ₹643 crore in Q2 FY2024, reflecting stronger sales performance but weaker earnings efficiency.
However, the company’s operating performance deteriorated sharply. EBITDA dropped 61% YoY to ₹43 crore, down from ₹110 crore last year. The EBITDA margin shrank to 5.9%, a significant decline from 17.1% in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
