GPT Infraprojects shares surge 13% after securing Rs 481.11 crore order from South Eastern Railway

Shares of GPT Infraprojects Ltd jumped 13% on March 20, 2025, after the company was declared L1 (Lowest Bidder) for a significant railway infrastructure project worth ₹481.11 crore.

The contract, awarded by CAO Construction, South Eastern Railway Kolkata, involves the construction of Important Bridge No. 57 over the Rupnarayan River for the Down and Middle Line on the Howrah-Kharagpur route.

The project, undertaken in EPC mode, includes the development of viaducts, composite girders, and an elevated platform at Kolaghat Station under the Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway. This order strengthens GPT Infraprojects’ position in the railway infrastructure sector, reinforcing its expertise in executing complex engineering projects.

Shares of GPT Infraprojects opened at ₹98.00, hitting an intraday high of ₹108.81 and a low of ₹96.00. The stock remains significantly below its 52-week high of ₹204.00 but above its 52-week low of ₹74.28.
