Shares of Godfrey Phillips India Ltd were in focus on Wednesday as the stock slipped nearly 1% to ₹2,981 in morning trade, reacting to developments linked to the company’s executive director, Samir Modi. Delhi Police informed the Delhi High Court that a charge sheet has been filed against him in an alleged rape case.
An FIR under charges of rape and intimidation was earlier lodged at the New Friends Colony Police Station. Modi, who is currently out on bail, has petitioned the court seeking quashing of the FIR.
Samir Modi, the younger son of K.K. Modi and Bina Modi, serves as an executive director at Modi Enterprises and Godfrey Phillips India, in addition to holding a director position at Indofil Industries Ltd.
