Shares of GMR Airports Ltd saw an uptick as the company reported a net profit of ₹202.1 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2024, marking a significant turnaround from a net loss of ₹486.4 crore in the corresponding period last year. The company’s revenue from operations surged 19.2% year-on-year to ₹2,653.2 crore, compared to ₹2,226.7 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal. EBITDA also saw an impressive 48.3% jump to ₹991.7 crore from ₹668.6 crore, pushing the EBITDA margin to 37.4%, up from 30% a year ago.

Passenger traffic at Delhi Airport reached 20.3 million in Q3FY25, reflecting an 8.1% year-on-year growth. Domestic traffic increased by 8.2%, while international traffic saw a 7.8% rise. The airport recorded its highest-ever quarterly and monthly traffic in Q3FY25 and December 2024, respectively. Meanwhile, Hyderabad Airport saw a 22.1% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic, reaching 7.7 million. Domestic travel rose by 24.4%, while international passenger traffic grew by 11.5%. The airport also hit a new milestone with record quarterly and monthly traffic figures. Revenue from Hyderabad operations for the quarter stood at ₹609 crore, up 22.9% from ₹496 crore in the previous year. EBITDA grew 35.1% year-on-year to ₹387 crore, with 9MFY25 EBITDA rising 17.4% to ₹1,117 crore.

GMR’s Mopa Airport in Goa also contributed to the company’s growth, with total income for Q3FY25 rising to ₹124 crore, a substantial 76.9% increase from ₹70 crore in Q3FY24. The airport reported an EBITDA of ₹63 crore, up from ₹17 crore in the same period last year. The airport recently expanded its passenger capacity from 4.4 million to 7.7 million and received approvals for its Apron/Airside area, further strengthening its operational capabilities.

Following the strong earnings report, GMR Airports’ shares rose 3.08% to ₹73.25. The company’s market capitalization currently stands at ₹773.44 billion, with a trading volume of 10.57 million shares. The stock has been trading within a day range of ₹71.91 to ₹73.71 and a year range of ₹68.90 to ₹103.75. The surge in earnings and positive passenger traffic trends across its airports signal a strong operational performance for the company as it continues to expand its aviation infrastructure.
