GMR Airports Infrastructure experienced a 1 percent gain in early trade on January 17, driven by a notable 15 percent year-on-year increase in passenger traffic for the month of December.
In December 2023, approximately 10.98 million passengers transited through the airports managed by the company, spanning Delhi, Hyderabad, Goa, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This figure represented a 10.5 percent month-on-month rise, primarily fueled by heightened traffic during the festive season.
As of 9:45 am, GMR Airport Infra shares were trading at Rs 85.15 apiece, indicating a 0.95 percent increase on the BSE compared to the previous session’s closing price.
The month also witnessed a total of 68,095 aircraft movements, marking an 8.3 percent year-on-year increase and a 6.2 percent rise from November 2023. The positive market response reflects the company’s strengthened performance in the aviation sector.
