The Delhi High Court on Thursday refused to grant bail to former Aam Aadmi Party councillor Tahir Hussain in connection with the murder of Intelligence Bureau (IB) staffer Ankit Sharma during the February 2020 northeast Delhi riots.
The bench of Justice Neena Bansal Krishna pronounced the judgment today, dismissing Hussain’s plea for relief. Hussain, who was accused of being involved in the killing of Ankit Sharma in Chand Bagh during the violence, had sought bail citing lack of evidence and prolonged custody.
Earlier this morning, the court had reserved its verdict on the matter. Hussain remains in judicial custody as multiple cases related to the Delhi riots continue to be heard.
