Defence stocks traded mostly positive in early market hours today, with heavyweight names like HAL and Solar Industries leading the gainers, while some mid-tier players such as BEML and Zen Technologies witnessed profit-booking. The data is as of 9:42 AM on April 1, 2025.

HAL surged 3.26% to ₹4,313.80, continuing its strong momentum following the recent ₹62,700 crore LCH order. Avantel rose 2.47% to ₹116.06, while Astra Microwave climbed 2.22% to ₹687.30. Paras Defence was up 1.86% at ₹975.75, and Solar Industries gained 1.20% to ₹11,379.10. BDL also advanced 0.48% to ₹1,287.50, and Apollo Micro Systems edged higher by 0.22% to ₹122.99. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (Mazdock) remained nearly flat, up just 0.06% at ₹2,645.35.

On the downside, BEL slipped 0.19% to ₹300.75. Data Patterns was down 0.34% at ₹1,684.15, while GRSE dropped 0.69% to ₹1,680.00 (approx). Zen Technologies declined 0.76% to ₹1,467.25 and BEML was the top laggard in the segment, falling 0.72% to ₹3,196.25.

Overall, the defence sector continued to see strength in frontline names, particularly HAL, even as select stocks faced mild pressure after recent rallies.
