CLSA has noted strong growth in the electric 2-wheeler (e-2W) segment, with high-speed e-2W registrations surpassing 7.7 lakh units in the first eight months of FY25. The e-2W mix has increased by 100 bps YoY to 5.8%, and within scooters, it has risen by 400 bps YoY to 16%, driven by the launch of more affordable models by various OEMs.

Among key developments, Honda has unveiled new e-2W models, with deliveries starting in February 2025, while Ola plans to launch its first e-motorcycle soon, with deliveries commencing in Q1CY25.

This surge reflects the growing consumer acceptance of electric mobility and the increasing efforts by OEMs to expand their EV portfolios.
