Shares of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) went up nearly 2% in early morning trading on May 7. This happened after the company said its board will consider a bonus issue along with announcing earnings on May 9.

BPCL is a state-owned company involved in oil refining and marketing. Its board is going to meet soon to declare the company’s quarterly earnings. The board may also declare a dividend and bonus shares for shareholders.

BPCL had earlier announced the date for its quarterly earnings. But on Monday, it said the board may also consider issuing bonus shares to eligible shareholders.

At 9:30 am, BPCL shares were trading 1.90% higher at ₹621.85 on the NSE.

In a filing to the stock exchange on April 30, BPCL said its Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, May 9, 2024. At this meeting, they will consider and approve the financial results for the quarter and financial year ended March 2024. The company could declare its earnings during market hours.
