Bank of Baroda: Shares jump over 2%, hits new high of Rs.145.75

Bank of Baroda shares jumped to 2.02% to hit a new high on Friday amid a positive trend in banking stocks.

The scrip opened at Rs 141.90 and witnessed strong buying support during the session. It went on to make a new 52-week high of Rs 145.75, before closing at Rs 144.55, registering a gain of 2.02%.

Trading volumes were higher in Bank of Baroda at 97,02,235 shares against the average daily volume of around 40 lakh shares. The total traded value came in at Rs 26,100.95 lakhs.

The state-owned lender has a market capitalization of Rs 1,40,040 crore. The stock has been in focus recently after the bank reported a robust 66% rise in net profit for the December quarter. Its asset quality also showed improvement during the quarter.

The strong set of Q3 numbers has renewed investor interest in the stock, resulting in today’s surge.
