Shares of Astra Microwave Products Ltd traded over 1.7% higher at ₹1,060.30 in morning trade on Monday after the company announced a major defence contract win through its joint venture.
The defence and telecom equipment manufacturer said that its JV, Astra Rafael Comsys Pvt Ltd, has secured an order worth ₹285.56 crore (including taxes) from the Ministry of Defence. The order relates to the procurement of advanced communication systems and accessories for the Indian Air Force’s Special Forces units, with execution scheduled over 11 months.
The company clarified that the deal has no promoter or related-party involvement, with the bulk of execution to be handled by the JV entity.
Astra Microwave has been witnessing strong demand visibility in defence electronics. In May, senior leadership highlighted an expected order intake of ₹1,300–1,400 crore for FY26 and projected a ₹100 million-plus order backlog in the JV alone next year. The consolidated order book currently stands at ₹2,303 crore, with ₹1,951 crore at the standalone level.
The Hyderabad-based firm generates nearly 45% of revenues from radar systems, making it a key beneficiary of India’s ongoing defence modernization push.
Shares of Astra Microwave traded ₹1,060.30, up 1.73%, as of 10:02 AM.
