Shares of Astra Microwave Products Ltd were trading marginally higher at ₹912.50, up 0.90% on Friday, Dec 12, after the company announced a major contract win from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

In a regulatory filing dated December 11, the company said it has secured an order worth ₹171.38 crore for the supply of six Klystron-based S-band Polarimetric Doppler Weather Radars, including associated systems, AWS units (Automatic Weather Stations), Disdrometers, accessories and long-term maintenance support.

The project scope includes a three-year warranty followed by seven years of Comprehensive Annual Maintenance Contract (CAMC). The order will be executed within 18 months, as specified in Annexure-1 of the filing.

Astra Microwave clarified that the awarding body is a domestic government entity and that neither the promoter group nor related parties have any interest in the transaction. The order does not fall under related-party arrangements.

The company, known for radar, electronic warfare and microwave subsystem manufacturing, said this new IMD contract further strengthens its role in India’s weather-monitoring and meteorological infrastructure segment.
