Ashok Leyland stock in focus: MSRTC to add 1,300 diesel buses for New Year

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has announced the addition of over 1,300 diesel buses to its fleet as a special New Year gift to passengers. This move aims to address the persistent bus shortages and meet the rising demand for public transport across Maharashtra.

Key regions like Mumbai-Pune, Nashik-Sambhajinagar, and Nagpur-Amravati will see the deployment of around 450 buses initially, with operations beginning in the New Year. The initiative is expected to reverse declining passenger numbers and improve MSRTC’s daily commuter capacity while boosting demand for key suppliers like Ashok Leyland, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer.
