Antony Waste Handling Cell shares surged over 16% after the company announced the receipt of two large-scale municipal contracts from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), strengthening its position in India’s urban waste management sector.
Antony Waste Handling Cell Limited (AWHCL) informed exchanges that its material subsidiary, AG Enviro Infra Projects Private Limited, has been awarded major Collection and Transportation (C&T) contracts by BMC. The contracts have been awarded to a consortium comprising AG Enviro Infra Projects Private Limited with a 51% stake, M/s Jigar Transport Company holding 29%, and M/s M. K. Enterprises with a 20% share.
The combined value of the two contracts stands at approximately ₹1,330 crore. Individually, the contracts are valued at around ₹684 crore and ₹646 crore, respectively. Both projects carry a tenure of seven years, offering long-term revenue visibility and operational stability for Antony Waste and its subsidiary.
Under the scope of the contracts, the joint venture will handle the collection and transportation of nearly 1,250 metric tonnes per day of municipal solid waste across several key wards in Mumbai. This includes waste collection from A, B, C, and D wards as well as from N, S, and T wards, covering some of the city’s most densely populated and commercially active zones.
