Prime Minister Narendra Modi today while travelling through Tamil Nadu and Puducherry has inaugurated various major infrastructure and developmental projects and also laid the foundation stones for several more ports and highway projects.

PM Modi had earlier today tweeted regarding the same quoting – “Leaving for Puducherry and Tamil Nadu to inaugurate development works that will further ‘Ease of Living’ and economic growth.”

The Prime Minister spent the first half of his day in Puducherry where he began the commencement of various projects including the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, expanding of National Highway 54-A to a four-lane, Medical College Building at Karaikal New Campus of JIPMER-Phase I, Minor Port, and the Synthetic Athletic Track at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex.

He also inaugurated a Blood Centre at state-run JIPMER, a Sports Authority of India (SAI) girls hostel at Lawspet and a reconstructed Heritage Mairie Building.

PM Modi is now travelling to Coimbatore where he will today lay the foundation stone for more infrastructure projects at around 04:00 PM (IST) which are being said to be worth nearly Rs 12, 400 crore including the inauguration of the 8-lane project of Korampallam Bridge and Rail Over Bridge (ROB) and to lay the foundation stones for a major solar power project.
